Bunker Hill Parking Lot will not need to be temporarily closed Friday, 10/22/2021, as first reported. The need to conduct soil borings to take samples for testing is no longer necessary. Samples taken when the fuel tank was removed came back below state standards. I appreciate everyone's understanding and cooperation.
No parking will be allowed on town streets, roads or municipal parking lots between the hours of 11 p.m. and
7 a.m. per town ordinance. This ban remains in effect November 1, 2021 through April 30 2022. Board of Selectmen The Supervisors of the Checklist will be holding a session on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (longer if needed) at the Town Clerk's office, located at 25 Main Street for any additions or corrections that may be needed to the Voter Checklist. - Supervisors of the Checklist Sandra Doolan, Ellie Emery & Sharon Wilkinson
On Friday, 10/22/2021, Lancaster's Municipal Parking Lot off Bunker Hill Street will be closed for the day to allow for soil sampling. An underground fuel tank was found and later removed from the parking lot and soil testing is required to determine how much, if any, of the property is impacted by the contents of the tank. The closing is not expected to be for more than the day. Limited access to the properties that utilize the lot for their access will be allowed but no parking will be allowed. If you park there overnight please have your car removed by 7AM. You can use any of the other municipal lots off Main Street (Park Street and Canal Street). If you have any questions or concerns please contact Town Manager, Benjamin S. Gaetjens-Oleson, at the Town Office.
